Ownership

Unless a written agreement says otherwise, MADC retains all intellectual-property rights in its Products and website content, including drawings, layouts, document structures, written content, specifications, renderings, product photographs, graphics, metadata and the MADC system™.

Copyright protection generally arises when an original work is created; a copyright notice, file hash or timestamp does not create the copyright. MADC uses document numbers, revision records, SHA-256 hashes and trusted timestamps as part of its document-control and rights-management records. These records help identify a particular issued file and record that the corresponding version existed at a stated time. They are not presented as a government copyright registration, an automatic legal judgment or a guarantee that a platform will remove disputed material.

MADC claims copyright in this original work. Copyright protection is generally automatic under applicable law and the Berne Convention framework. The scope of protection and available remedies remain subject to the law of the country where protection is claimed.

Your project licence

When payment is confirmed, the original buyer receives a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the purchased Product for one project at one physical site, unless the product page or written agreement expressly states otherwise.

For this purpose:

• A Project is one renovation or build scope prepared under one client brief and deliverable set.
• A Site is one fixed physical address or premises.
• A new phase, additional unit, new address, relocation, expansion or re-fit is a new project and needs a new licence, unless MADC agrees otherwise in writing.

What you may do

For the licensed Project and Site, you may:

• download, store and print the Product;
• use it internally to plan and carry out the licensed work;
• share the relevant parts with your appointed contractor, fabricator, tradesperson or professional adviser where necessary for that work; and
• make project-specific notes or amendments, provided that any change affecting dimensions, materials, fittings or construction is recorded and verified by the party responsible for the work.

Anyone receiving the Product for the licensed project must keep it confidential, use it only for that project and stop retaining or circulating it when their involvement ends, except where record retention is legally required.

What you may not do without written permission

You may not:

• resell, redistribute, gift, sublicense, publicly post or make the Product available outside the licensed project;
• upload the Product to public websites, marketplaces, social-media libraries, shared cloud folders or any other location where unrelated people can access it;
• remove copyright, licence, document-control, watermark, metadata, revision or attribution information;
• copy, extract, republish or repackage the Product as a template, SOP, drawing library, checklist, documentation system or competing product;
• use MADC content to train, fine-tune, evaluate or create a dataset for an AI, LLM, image-generation, automated extraction or similar system; or
• upload MADC files, pages, screenshots or substantial excerpts to an AI/LLM or automated-content service for summarising, rewriting, extraction or derivative output.

The last two restrictions do not stop normal project communication between the appointed people named above. If an AI or automated tool is genuinely necessary for your licensed project, contact MADC first with the tool, purpose, data-handling terms and exact material proposed for use. Permission must be in writing.

References to other brands, products and standards

MADC may refer to a manufacturer, part number, standard or third-party product to make a specification clearer. All third-party names and rights remain with their respective owners. A reference does not mean that the owner endorses MADC, that the item is available everywhere, or that MADC owns the third party's intellectual property.

AI-generated renderings

Where MADC uses an AI-generated or AI-modified visual rendering, it is marked “AI-generated rendering.” The label is a transparency notice. It does not transfer MADC's copyright in the underlying original documentation, and it does not make a rendering a fabrication instruction or acceptance standard.

Document register

Selected MADC releases may be recorded in the public Document Register Log by document ID, title, revision, release date, status, SHA-256 value and timestamp reference.

A matching SHA-256 value confirms that a file is identical to the recorded release. A different value confirms only that the file has changed. The register does not, by itself, determine authorship, licence status or infringement. Supporting timestamp records and master release files are retained separately as part of MADC's internal document-control record.

Reporting unauthorised use

If you believe that a MADC Product is being offered, copied or shared without permission, please email legal@maisonatelierdc.com with:

• the URL, platform or location of the material;
• the relevant MADC product, document number or file name;
• screenshots or other available evidence; and
• your contact details and relationship to the work.

MADC will review the report and may use the relevant platform's copyright-reporting or notice process. A report does not guarantee a particular platform outcome, but clear file identity, dated release records and licence information help us assess and support a good-faith request.

If the licence is breached

If we reasonably believe a Product is being used outside its licence, we may ask for the use to stop, remove access, or provide information needed to resolve the issue. Serious or unresolved misuse may result in suspension or termination of the licence and further action where appropriate. Nothing in this page prevents either party from relying on rights or remedies available under applicable law.
